Feast of Het-Hert (Hathor) and Sekhmet; Day of prolonging life and the goodness of Ma’at

It was a great day as the followers of these three great Goddesses of the kemetic faith marked their feast day here at the mother temple. Pharaoh Barry & his procession made their way from temple house to the gates of the mother temple. Where the were greeted by the High Priestesses of the three Goddesses who had been waiting at the gates to the outer court of the mother temple. Pharaoh Barry greeted them & gave them his blessings as the procession entered the outer court to the cheers of the gathered crowds many of who where holding images of their patron Goddess. The crowds though did have a underlying concern to it today with continued rumours that the Goddess Sekhmet was displeased 7 that the horrific weather condition that we had witnessed on her festival days where a mark of this anger. Many had been reminded of her role as the destroyer & the fear was in the air that her anger was in the air all around. The Pharaohs procession then made its way into the temples inner court where the Priestess’s of the three Goddesses greeted Pharaoh Barry as he made his way across the inner court 7 entered each or the Goddesses inner sanctums in turn communing with each Goddess as he did so. The waiting crowds waited with anticipation as their pharaoh talked to the Goddesses on their behalf & also learning from the Goddesses, what they expected form their followers in the year that was to come. After he had talked to each Goddess The Pharaoh made an offering to each on behalf of the people. Finally, Pharaoh Barry emerged back in the inner court where he addresses the gathered priestesses. It was at this point that he told them that in general all three Goddesses where happy with thing & the way that they the priesthood had acted in their names over the year. However, Sekhmet was in deed angered at the way many of the faithful have lapsed in their devotions & at the fact that many had failed in their duty to try to help non-believers back to the right path. Pharaoh Barry confirmed that she had demonstrated her anger & just a fraction of her great powers of destruction over the past few weeks. However, she had told him that she would not unleash any more of her powers of destruction on the world as long as she could see that man was learning his lesson again & would not fall back into the days when she walked the earth to avenge the great insults that man committed against the God Ra. It was at this point that Pharaoh called on the priesthood to go t their temples throughout the temples of the federation & call the faithful to them & open their doors to those who where in need of guidance back to the right path of all men. Pharaoh Barry then commanded the priestesses to go forth to make the offering to the three Goddesses. Once this was done, the Priestesses proceeded to purify the ground & air of the inner court before the three Goddesses came forth from their sanctuary’s to be with their follower on their feat day. As the 3 Goddesses came forth into the inner court a great fanfare sounded to tell all that they had come forth & to make ready for their procession from the inner court out to the outer court where they would receive the offerings of their faithful & give their great blessings to all. The gates of the inner court opened & the great procession of the three Goddesses came forth lead by the Pharaoh & the High Priestesses to the great cheers of all gathered on this great day. The faith full then came forth to make their offerings to the Goddesses after which the procession returned to the inner court where the Goddesses attended a great feast in their honours in the inner court banqueting halls attended by their priesthood 7 the Pharaoh the Tajaty & others of the Grand & high Council.

As the gates of temple house opened the procession of Pharaoh Barry & his court made their way along the rout to the Mother temples great gates. The rout was lined with followers of the temple of Sekhmet who had travelled from the Federationtion temple around the world to share this great day with each other here at the heart of the Federation in the presence of the Goddess & her representatives here on earth. As the Pharaohs procession approached the Gates of the outer court of the Mother Temple, the trumpets sounded to announce his approach & the gates of the inner court opened. Through which came the procession of the High priestess of Sekhmet to meet the Pharaoh at the entrance to the Mother Temple. The High Priestess greeted the Pharaoh and the two processions became one as they made their way across the outer court through the gate way into the inner court of the Mother temple with the great gates closing behind them. This was the signal for those gathered outside to be allowed to enter the outer court. Once they had entered the inner court the Pharaohs attendants presented the priestess’s of Sekhmet the offering that they had carried for purification, these included beer meat & blood, before being taken into the holy of holys where the Goddess was waiting within her scared image. It was here within this the most holy of places in the heart of the mother temple that the Pharaoh made the offerings to the Goddess in the name of human kind in his role as the living link between the living of this world & the Gods. Once the offerings had been accepted by the Goddess the doors of her holy inner sanctum where opened & she came forth in the presence of the Pharaoh & High Priestess into the inner court to be greeted by her priestess’s who purified the ground before she passed over it 7 the air before she passed through it to make her way to the gates of the inner court. The gates where opened & the faithful where finally given the chance to behold the Goddess & to make their own offerings to her in the presence of the Pharaoh & her priesthood. When the offerings had been made the Pharaoh in the name of Sekhmet gave her blessings to all those gathered & to all her followers throughout the world Sekhmet then returned into the inner court with the great gats closing behind her. She then returned to her inner sanctum after giving her blessings to her priestess’s through the Pharaoh & excepting the offerings that they had to give her on this day. Pharaoh & High Priestess then made their way through the inner court out into the outer court along the rout between the Mother Temple & temple house where The Pharaoh hosted a official lunch for selected guests that included a selection of those who had come to the Mother temple today. Through out the day offerings continued to be made at the shrine of Sekhmet in the mother temple.

Tribute to Stephen Gately

As a mark of respect to the singer Steven Gately who passed from this world last night, Pharaoh Barry will not be publishing his weekly blogg this week. Pharaoh Barry who was a friend of Mr.Gately said that the world will be a poorer place for losing such a loving & beautiful sole who has brought such joy & happiness to so many lives in a only to short life. There is no doubt that he will be guided straight to the halls of Osiris & will find eternal happiness there as a well deserved reward for the good & loving life that he has lead. Pharaoh Barry has ordered prayers & offering to be made for Mr. Gatelys souls swift & safe journey to the next world.

How to show your devotions as a Kemetic follower

10^th day of Hethara (26^th September )

As another week passes here at the mother temple I sit here & reflect over the week that has passed. It has been for us a very busy week with a number of important celebrations to be marked.

One of these was the Autumn equinox which not only the Kemetic faith marked but it was also marked by our fellow brothers & sister in many of the other ancient pagan faiths around the world & as I said in my address that day it made me feel closer to our fellows to think that on that day we where all united in the marking of this day.

We also marked a number of other festivals here at he mother temple but sadly due to my work load I had to leave the Tjaty to stand in for me at these events.

I am always a little sad when I am so busy that I have to turn to others to stand in for me on these great days of the year, yet I have to accept that one man can not do everything on his own. For we can see this in the life stories of many of our Gods who turned to others to share their own great work loads which does make me feel a little better.

In the next weeks ahead we have a great number of festivals & holy days that we will be marking here at the mother temple which has brought to mind a question that I do find people asking me. They ask how they should mark these days & should they celebrate the holy days of Gods that they do not have as their own patrons simply because they are Kemetic Gods. These are very good questions ones that I feel do disserve a very good answer.

The first part of this is very easy to answer in my eyes & that is that we can celebrate the Gods holy days in many different ways according to our lives. We here at the mother temple have the good fortune to have priests shrines 7 the temple itself. This means that we can carry out the full rites to mark these days.

Many of the faith full do have this advantage and go to their temples to mark these days under the guidance of our priests. But as for those who do not have this advantage which let us face it is a great number. For although our numbers grow every day the world is a very big place & the odds of people being near to each other in order to found a temple are very slim. So many of the faith full have to carry out their devotions in their homes at their own private family shrines.

This is just as good if any thing I think that the Gods may well feel that this is even better for here in your homes you are showing pure devotion that comes from your very hearts rather than following the words & actions of the priest. Although here I am not saying that the role of the priests is not a important. Their role in the every day action that have to be carried out to honour the Gods in their temples is very important 7 the guidance that they give to the faith full is also a very important part of their lives.

But when you are in your own homes stood before the Gods what you do and say has truly come form your heart a purest act of love & devotion that can never be recreated by another in your name.

The next part is a little more difficult to explain but here again as your Pharaoh I will try & I hope that you will understand what I am trying to put into words for you.

The question of what you should do is one that has many answers each one is different for each person & for each of the great Gods for how we show our faith to our Gods is a personnel act that can only truly come from the heart. Yes there are the formal acts that we all perform before the Gods on these great days. Yet there is so much more to the devotions that we offer to the Gods not only on these holy days but also in our every day devotions. What I say to people who ask me this is simply sit before the shrine and let your heart & sole lead the way.

Say what comes into your mind to the Gods talk to them. When you make your offering to them let your heart speak the words of devotion this way you will find that you will truly connect with the Gods. When we here at the mother temple carry out our devotions I as Pharaoh act as the representative of all in this world I make offering to the Gods in your names & commune with the Gods in the name of all mankind. So even if you do miss your personnel devotions I as your Pharaoh will have done so in proxy for you here at the mother temple.

This is just a small part of my role as Pharaoh & is one of the main reasons that I like to hear form the faith full so that when I stand before the Gods I can be sure that what I am communing to them is the true feeling of the faith full & not just my personnel interpretation.

Then there is the final part which is should I show my devotions on the holy days of Gods that I do not have as my patrons. This is very much up to the person again but we will all find that during our lives we will in time come to find that we look to more & more of the God for their patronage in our lives. As we grow older our shrines at home will grow larger with more & more of the Gods dwelling their. So as the years pass you will find that you do in fact mark more & more of our holy days. But until then I say to you that if you do not feel a personnel connection with the Gods who holy day it is it is perfectly ok not to attend the devotion on that day. As I have just said I as the Pharaoh will have already acted in your name & with the Gods family connections you will have been giving your devotions to the Gods through a relative in the great holy family’s that make up the Gods.

Autumn Equinox ,pagan unity

Autumn Equinox; Honors to Het-hert, Ritual of the the Netjeru of the Two Lands. 6th day of the month of Hethara. As we gather here at the mother temple & in the Federations temples around the world & at our home shrines for those who are not near to a temple I would like to share with you my thoughts on this day. I find today a very interesting one for it is one of the few celebrations that unite the Kemetic faith & all other pagan faiths together in this one event. Around the world today both the Kemetic faith & the pagan faiths will be marking the Autumn Equinox. I have always thought that it would be such a great thing for us in the Kemtic faith & those in the other pagan faiths to take this day as a chance to build links with each other. For I feel that is would be a great day that the many pagan faiths of the world do work together to help each other in this world of many faiths. There is no doubt that the pagan community is greatly weakened by the fact that they rarely come together to work as one in so many of the great issues that we face as pagans. If only we could put aside our many differences & work as one to promote the pagan voice in this world. A voice that could bring recognition & protection to our followers. Through out the world the pagan community is in great need of unity & help. The other main stream faiths are covered in every aspect of life around the world. They can find spiritual help no matter where they are. As leaders of the many pagan faiths it should be our duty to do all we can to ensure that our followers can find such spiritual help when & where ever they are in need of it. So as we unite in this marking of the equinox I call on the pagan world to turn their thoughts to this great task to come together as a true community rather than many groups who although united in belief are so far from each other that they may as well be on different planets to one an other. Over the years I have continued to make this plea to the leaders of the pagan faiths but I always find I hit the same problems. They are the fact that every one concentrates their energy on thinking on the reasons why we can not unite as a true community. Let us put this aside & work to bring our faiths together as a community that can give real true support & help to the many pagan faithful around the world. For they have as much right to have a strong united voice that can defend their rights to give them the help & support to promote their basic human rights in a world that can even in these so call enlightened times be dominated by the bigoted hatred of those of the non pagan faiths who dominate the halls of government around the world. In recent times we have seen that these governments have turn their back on the pagan peoples in Africa none Christians live in fear that they will be dragged from their homes & killed for their beliefs & the misconception of their neighbours that they are evil witches who are casting spells on them. A united pagan lobby could & would be a voice for such people so on this day of reflection when all pagans mark the same day let us move towards this goal of unity. I as Pharaoh of the Federation of Kemetic orthodox temples reach out my hand to all to join us in achieving this great goal not only within the Kemetic faith but with in the pagan world as a whole. What it means to be a Kemetic follower

When I was asked to write this weekly article to be published on our web pages & sites I had to ask myself what am I going to write? As the head of the Federation I make my addresses on the festival days but then in those I have a thyme to work from that being the teachings of the God who’s festival it is. But here we do not have any real thyme so I looked to my every day life & I realised that I have been luckier than many of our faiths followers. I was born into the Kemetic faith my Grandfather was himself the Pharaoh when I was born & I was taught the teachings of our great faith from the very first day. I did not have the problems of having to clear my mind of the doctrines of other faiths that are in many respects the very opposite of our own. In those days the number of the faithful who could claim this was very few but as I look at our numbers today I find great joy in seeing that the number children that are being brought up in the Kemetic faith is growing. Although every day I find that we have more & more people returning to the Kemteic faith when they see that this is the true path for all.When I say return to the faith you may find this a bit puzzling but it is our belief that we are all born in the true faith but from that very second that the Gods had a soul over to the care of mortals that soul can be taken down many path. Today we find that so many are taken down the wrong path of the false faiths. Over the years though many do find that they feel that they need to find their way back to a true path one which does not have a place for the hatred & bigotry of the faiths that they have been raised in. It is then that they see the light that leads them towards the true path the Kemetic path. As followers of the faith we should do all that we can to help those who look to return to the Gods. I myself every day receive a number of e-mails from people who are looking for guidance in how to join our faith. As I say to them in our eyes you are already part of the faith it is only a matter of you looking to the Gods & to begin living your lives in accordance with the teachings of the Gods to put aside the doctrines of the false faiths & you are there. Within the Kemetic faith people can find everything that they are looking for in life. Our Gods have many different aspects which in the whole make the great power that has kept the forces of chaos at bay. This fact means that we can all find a God that has a role that perfectly matches our life at this point in our great journey. As we continue to travel under the patronage of this God we will slowly develop & in time the great our knowledge grows the more Gods we will find that we turn to for support in our lives as those very lives change. Each & every God can through their life stories show us something things that if we look at them in the context of our own lives can & will show us the way forward. When ever I face a problem or am asked for a solution or guidance then I turn to the Gods that have a relevance to the problem. I will contemplate on their life stories study what they did find out the reason that they may have done these things, most important of all I look to see what effect their action caused. By communing with the Gods in this way we get to share their great wisdom that has moulded this world from the very days of creation. Their great knowledge can be seen all around if only we take the time to look. We do not need the doctrines that bind the other faiths of the world doctrines that robe every single made from the very thing that we all seek the freedom to live our lives in freedom. When the Gods ruled this world they lead by example not by a list of rules that tell us not to do this or do that. We see from their life example that we should treat all as equals as they did. We see from their life stories what is right & wrong for even today thousands of years after they left this world they are still leading us by example. So I hope that every week I will be able to take a subject that is relevant to the world at that time & try to explain how the Gods have shown us how we should move forward along the true path & in so doing force chaos back to the dark fringes of the world. Mumbai swine flu shutdown starts

 As Mumbai in India begins a temporary shut down of schools, colleges & cinemas in a move to stop the spread of swine flu the Federation once again urges the faithful to have confidence in the powers of the Gods to lead us through this time & to follow the directions of their governments. The priests of Thoth have been constantly making prayers & offering to Him as God of medicine to guide & help us. The priestess’s of Sekhmet have been doing the same. These Gods have guided us through many hard times of plague & illness in the past & will do so know. There is no reason to doubt their wisdom & the wisdom that they will pass onto those mortals in this world who we turn to in these trouble times to help us. It is important to note also that there have only been 11 deaths in India from swine flu which if we take in context with other deaths is a very small number proof that the Gods are with us. After receiving a number of e-mails asking, why the news section has been so patchy in recent weeks we are pleased to announce that we have make changes to the way we publish this section on the web site. It is now hoped that we will know have a daily publication to give the Kemetic followers spiritual guidance on many of the subjects that are in the world news. Day of Peace between Heru and Set, Glacier gets thinner over 10yrs, fight for right to die is wrong, Iran tortures & kills demonstrators, Prayers for Taiwan mudslide victims .

Today the people of the Kemetic faith will mark this great day when the war between these two Gods came to an end & the future of mankind was forged. From this day the freedom & form of government that many of us enjoy today was promised to all. The Tjaty will lead the ceremonies at the mother temple during the Pharaohs summer holidays. The Pharaoh & his family & household will attend a private ceremony at their summer residence. News today that one of the largest glaciers in Antarctica in thinning 4 times faster than it was 10yrs ago is further proof to the world that the time has come to do all we can to teach the world the kemetic way forward. This includes good husbandry of the world’s natural resources in the same way as our ancestors did in the past under the guidance of the Gods. A perfect example being how they used the natural resources of the Nile floods to enrich a desert land making it one of the greatest food producers in the ancient world. The people of today can learn so much from this seven the way the kemetic Gods have shown the natural way forward. If we do not turn to these natural ways then we have so much to lose the future would be & are unthinkable. The High council in the name of the Pharaoh has once again called on the faithful to make offerings & prays for the victims of the Taiwan mudslides. The poor people may not be of our faith but they are as we all are born in the faith of the Gods but stray from the true path from that second they enter a world of contradictions & false faiths. However, as we are all born from the true faith we will all return to it as we pass to the next world where our ancestors & the Gods will be waiting for us to judge our worthiness to join them. The Federation once again condemns the latest moves by the right to die movement this time in Australia yet again we have to point to the cornerstones of our faith 7 that is the fact that no man has the right to take another’s life (unless carrying out the will of the law and the Gods) & no man has the right to take their own life. Those who do so will be forever condemned to the underworld never to see the glories of the next world or to be able live in glory with their families. It is our duty to the Gods 7 our faith to protest in whatever way we can to prevent this horrific crime against both man & the laws of the Gods form becoming legal. Where it is we must do all we can to have these unacceptable laws repealed. The thoughts & prayers once again go out to those who are fighting for the right of democratic freedom in Iran & the end of the religious rule that has blighted their nation for over 30yrs. This comes as we received news that some of those arrested in the recent demonstrations have been tortured to death by their capture who in this case are sadly the very people who claim the right to government in this country. What state can truly say it is acting in the interests of its people when the forces of the state are killing those very people. The Kemetic Gods have shown us that this is not the way for a government to act. For did not Heru fight the forces of Seth to ensure that these acts where forever banished from the world.

Today we of the Kemetic Faith will gather at our shrines & temples to mark this day. Here at the Mother temple the Tjaty will once again stand in for Pharaoh Barry who is on his annual holiday. At his summer residence Pharaoh Barry & his family will mark today’s celebration will the members of his household. There has been disappointing news from the U.K today with the news that the man who was convicted of the horrific crime of the Lockerbie bombing where 270 innocent souls where murdered may be released on compassionate grounds. As a faith we can only condemn this move for we are shown by our Gods that the rule of law is the cornerstone of the order that we need to keep chaos at bay. They show us that no man should be free from the punishment of the law. To allow this man to go free for any reason is to allow him to escape the full punishment of the law. We can see that the very Gods have turned on him in the cancer that will take him before Osiris where he will true feel the punishment for his crimes. But until that day comes he should & must stay in prison. For those who have lost loved ones due to his crime will never escape the unjust punishment that he has blighted their lives with for ever.
